Chester Bennington's widow, Talinda Bennington, took part in a CNN special over the weekend, with Anderson Cooper hosting a Town Hall as part of the Finding Hope: Battling America's Suicide Crisis program. Bennington was one of three guests on the panel, speaking openly about the death of her husband and the warning signs.

When asked by Cooper if there had been warning signs, Bennington stated, 'Absolutely there were [warning signs]. I am now more educated about those signs. They were definitely there - the hopelessness, the change of behavior, the isolation, that was all part of our daily life. Sometimes some signs were there more than others, sometimes they weren't there at all, as the case of right before he passed.'

She recalled, 'He was at his best right before he passed. We were on a family vacation and he flew back home to do a television commercial. I thought I was going to see him the next day. The time of it, you know -- he had been in states of depression before, he had had past attempts, but this was not a time where any of our family suspected this to happen, which is terrifying because it could happen at any moment with those thoughts.'

Later in the program, Bennington spoke of her husband having 'building blocks' that compiled over time to provide the Linkin Park singer with an unhealthy mental behavior and emotional pain. She stressed the importance of finding a coping mechanism and people you can trust to speak with and added that his self-medication at times did not help in trying to reach that healthy mental state.
